Here, at the Haute Couture Academy of Fashion, Fine Arts & Design, our art students are constantly introduced to inspirational sources and taught the proper uses of many different art mediums and techniques throughout the school year. Pencil, pastel, water colour paint, pen & ink, prisma pencil and prisma marker (to name just a few) are our mediums of choice. Each and every project we teach here is one of a specific college/university portfolio requirement for either visual arts and (of course) for fashion arts and communications and their related fields. Consequently, all of our instructors are professionals in the field that they teach and, as such, are able to pass on their valuable knowledge and wisdom, individual secrets, techniques and personal art experiences to each of his or her students.

The art component of each student’s portfolio is an extremely integral part of their overall university/college portfolio application process. Long gone are the days where universities and colleges held one-on-one private interviews with applying candidates. In today’s modern and hectic times of cut-backs and financial shortfalls, the majority of post-secondary institutions require portfolios to be mailed in a simple 9” x 12” manila envelope! Each completed art piece in each portfolio must be in the form of a professional “copy”…after all a picture really is worth a thousand words.

Keeping in mind that the portfolio is the only obstacle which stands between each student and his university acceptance, we accept the serious responsibility of ensuring that each and every individual is provided with the opportunity and essential individual guidance to submit the most professional work possible. Our goal? To ensure that all student portfolios of the Haute Couture Academy of Fashion, Fine Arts & Design STAND OUT amongst all the other university and college applicants each and every year!

After so many successful years (since 1998) preparing students for the exciting fashion and arts related programmes for North American colleges and universities, we have achieved an absolutely incredible yearly average acceptance rate of 97% into the most challenging and demanding visual arts, fashion and fashion arts related post-secondary programmes in Canada and the United States. What else can we say when our track record speaks for itself!

Art classes are offered both during the week and on weekends and are available to beginners, intermediates and advanced students. We have a maximum teacher:student ratio of 1:13 in all our art classes for optimum learning possibilities…and it shows!!! Our students are always producing top notch artistic pieces, and in recognition of this, many of them receive achievement awards within their artistic category at our year end Fashion & Art Show Gala.
