Many of our students, here at the Haute Couture Academy of Fashion, Fine Arts & Design have been studying art, fashion art, pattern making, and fine sewing techniques for many years. Needless to say, quite a few of them have become extremely adept at a very young age. For those hard-working and awe-inspiring students who have achieved a higher level of excellence in their art, fashion technique and design, the school often manages to find work placements for them with local fashion designers, graphic artists and advertising companies. These placements are usually on a volunteer basis only and definitely become an excellent addition to the work and life experiences for any student. Furthermore, these positions can be noted and exemplified on a student’s personal resume for university and college, which is a definite requirement with each portfolio submission.
If you feel that this is something you may wish to try and is right for you, please approach either your sewing or pattern making teacher to discuss it with her. At that point we will begin looking into the possibilities for you, and to decide whether or not you are ready for this opportunity.
Below are listed some of the local designers, artists and firms that have agreed to participate in this outstanding programme:
If you are interested in becoming a part of this programme, you must be a long-standing student of the Haute Couture Academy of Fashion, Fine Arts & Design. Ultimately, the final decision of whether or not a student is ready for, or can participate in, this programme is made solely by Joanne Dice, founder and owner of the school and the student placement programme.
