Since the school’s inception in 1998, we have been successfully and seriously instructing, inspiring and mentoring the youth and aspiring young designers of Vaughan, Richmond Hill, Thornhill, Toronto and GTA for many years now. We are a serious, forward thinking school specializing in the instruction of all aspects of fashion, design and visual arts to students of all ages. The majority of our students have hopes of one day attaining acceptance into the fashion design, fashion communications, visual arts, graphic arts, and interior design programmes in some of the best and most prestigious universities and colleges across North America… and it is our job to prepare them for this.
Since we are the only school in York Region specializing in fashion and design, it is no wonder that our student body ranges from as young as age 7 to adult. The academy boasts a fashion design programme selection larger even than most universities, offering classes for all ages, right from the beginner level all the way to a post professional level. We believe it is our professional instructors and small teacher:student ratios that make all the difference. Each instructor has been carefully hand chosen by Joanne Dice and all are industry proven professionals in their fields, and the results prove it. We boast a higher standard of learning for design than any other school in York Region. Our students move on to the university programmes of their choice anywhere in the world and have become successful in their fields of study.
Along with the warmer summer weather comes a need for flexing your creative muscles, having fun and just catching up on doing all the things that you didn’t have time for during the year. As we do throughout the school year, the Haute Couture Academy offers the very best in fashion design and illustration, sewing, patternmaking, makeup and cosmetics and visual arts summer camps and programmes to students of all ages. Our decades of vast experience in the education system has proven to us that the summer is most definitely the very best time of year to get started on learning new skills. As students do not have to worry about school and homework during the summer months, they can focus their energies on having fun, getting creative in a nurturing and cool learning environment and meeting new and exciting people in their programmes here with us.
In our KIDS Art and Fashion Sewing programmes, mini-makers dive into a world of COLOUR, FABRIC, and FUN! Sew cool arts and crafts projects and be introduced into the world of fashion design and garment sewing, all while developing crucial cognitive and fine motor skills! In our art classes, KIDS will explore wild art mediums and level up their creative ability with pro art and design instructors – all in a super fun and creative environment!
